Summary: Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) are in the forefront of agricultural development in India, primarily due to their strategic relevance at the district level. As knowledge and resource centres of the district agriculture, KVKs performance is closely watched and appreciated by all stakeholders. Forty eight KVKs in the states of Karnataka, Kerala and UT of Lakshadweep are coordinated and monitored by ICAR-Agricultural Technology application research institute (ATARI), Bengaluru. Increased number and diverse nature of activities performed by the KVKs every year stand testimony to the growing importance of KVKs.
