This books makes an attempt at formulating the methodology for learning and teaching sericulture, and is the outcome of the author's over a decade long experience in teaching and guiding students of sericulture. This edition presents thoroughly revised text with updated information. Sericulture is now a full time occupation, competing with food crop and cash crop cultivation. As a subject, it is being taught at different colleges/universities as a UGC recognized course under its vocationalization program. The book aims to meet the requirements of both the students and teachers of courses in sericulture, as well as the farmers engaged in sericulture, silkworm rearing and skill reeling. The content of this introductory textbook is based on the feedback from the students, researchers and industry. Students (Certificate/diploma and BSc level), research workers and farmers engaged in sericulture will be greatly benefitted from this book.
