Summary: Participatory irrigation management (PIM) is an important phenomenon in world of rural development. It is more effective tools in the field if irrigation practices. We know that water is very precious natural and a God gifted asset for us. It is our lifeline. Unfortunately, the water is very mare in quantitative and qualitative manner. Rain water harvesting and storage is one of best practices but its proper distribution among farmers is burning issue before us. PIM is an integrated system that disclosed not only distribution system but also management system assuring active people participation with the viewpoint of its maintenance and easy operation.Summary: This book is written on research basis but have conceptual contents regarding PIM and water policy. As case studies, it has summarized case studies of water use Tribal cooperatives for water use. At root level, how can we, overcome from the hindrances of management of water use association. Theses associations are headed by women. Thus, we can associate women empowerment and Tribal development aspects in PIM system. This book would keep a milestone to manage water users association in cooperative manners truly.Summary: Authors made an honest effort to bring real scenario of root level situation regarding PIM system, rural development, tribal development and women empowerment. In the field of natural resource management, water & land resource management, it will give a sight to researcher, rural development practiceners and policymakers. We hope that this book similarly useful for students and general readers who have interest in the field water resources management.
