Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), with financial assistant from the World Bank (WB), launched National Agricultural Higher Education project (NAHEP) in 2017 with an aim to bring transformative reforms in agricultural higher education in the country. Under NAHEP, the ICAR is in accountability, autonomy, transparency, and meritocracy to improve the quality and relevance of agricultural higher education in India. Since its inception, a collaborative and directional efforts are being made by NAHEP stakeholders to achieve the Project Development Objective (PDO) through addressing the improvement of policies, quality assurance through accreditation, common academic regulations and governance, effective curricula delivery sytems, improvement of faculty competence, student development, attracting talented students, IT support and upgradation of infrastructure and facilities enabling the ICAR - AU system to catch up nationally and internationally.
