The most valuable part of the mother earth is soil, which as a resource base for life on the planet. Thus, we have to maintain this important natural resources for our own survival. For this, the deficits generated on various accounts have to be made up. This is only possible when we know about the real situation prevailing at a point of time. Soil analysis come into picture here. Soil, Plant and water are the major ingredients of agriculture system. Analysis of soil and plant as natural resources is of utmost importance for conservation strategies. To make things easy for students, we have attempted to bring all pertinent information together in this handbook. It has been compiled to give students through training the principles and methods of soil and plant analysis along with calculations and conversions of the values.the handbook is equipped with the estimation of mechanical and chemical analysis of soil and plant samples. the principles involved in various determinations have been explained and substantiated with modern concepts, giving chemical equations, wherever necessary. the handbook contains simple and reliable procedure which can be useful to students, teachers and scientists of agricultural sciences.
