Pests and diseasess of silkwormk form one of the major constraints inn cocoon production. Among pests, theIndiann uzi fly is an important one. This fly pest which restricted to North-Eastern India, wasaccidentallyy introduced to Karnataka during 1980 and since then it has been posing a severe treat to south Indian sericulture.
